Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
Nosie (nosie.app) is a product of Ortomate Ltd., 12 Jessie Street, Wellington, New Zealand. This policy explains how we collect, use, hold, and disclose personal information, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Questions? Email hello@nosie.app.
Who this covers
Two groups of people interact with Nosie: customers (people with an account who run interview projects) and contacts (people our customers ask us to interview). Contacts never need an account.
Consent comes first
Nosie never contacts anyone without a recorded consent attestation supplied by the customer when the contact is added. Opt-outs are honoured immediately and permanently — they cannot be overridden by anyone, including our staff. Replying STOP to any SMS opts you out. During calls, saying you're not interested ends the interview.
What we collect
For customers: account details (name, email), billing details (handled by Stripe), and product usage. For contacts: the name and contact details a customer provides, interview transcripts and structured summaries, and delivery metadata (e.g. call outcomes). We do not store raw call audio — only transcripts and structured data.
How we use it
To run the interviews customers configure, deliver results to those customers, operate billing, and keep the service safe. We do not sell personal information. We use service providers (voice, telephony, email, payments, hosting) only as needed to provide Nosie.
Retention — 90 days
Interview data is automatically purged 90 days after collection. We remind customers before purging (14 days and 3 days beforehand) so they can export what they need. We keep minimal billing records as required by law.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you. Contacts may also ask us to delete their interview data entirely. Email hello@nosie.app and we'll respond promptly. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
Overseas contacts
Nosie primarily serves New Zealand, and supports Australian and United States contacts. Where we call or message people in those countries we apply the relevant local consent and calling-hour rules in addition to this policy.
Governing law
This policy is governed by New Zealand law, with jurisdiction in Wellington, New Zealand.
